USS Relief

Six ships in the United States Navy have been named USS Relief.

USS Relief (1836), a store ship, launched in 1836. She served intermittently until 1877 and was sold in 1883.
USS Relief (1896), a hospital ship with the Great White Fleet. She was commissioned in 1909. Her name was changed to Repose in 1918 to make way for her successor (AH-1) and was then sold in 1919.
USS Relief (YP-2), purchased in 1917 and used as a lookout station tender in Maine. She was sold in 1921.
USS Relief (ID-2170), a salvage tug, in commission from 1918 to 1919.
USS Relief (1904), a light vessel built in 1904 for the United States Lighthouse Service and acquired by the Navy in 1918. She was returned to the Lighthouse Service in 1919.
USS Relief (AH-1), designed from the keel up as a hospital ship and commissioned in 1920. She served through World War II and decommissioned in 1946.
